Board GRN Representative (please share with your board):

Twelve Representatives (see list below) have offered an amendment to repeal the 2 vote requirement passed at the last minute as part of Act 82 last session.  The amendment will come with consideration of H. 864- the Miscellaneous Education Bill scheduled for consideration later today  - Thursday, February 21.

Local school officials and school board members should call or email house members and urge them to support the amendment to repeal the two vote requirement.  This is a house action, so contact representatives only.

Calls can be placed to the Sergeant at Arms office at the state house - 802 828 2228.  Tell them that you would like to deliver a message to Representative (name) and simply say " I would like to leave a message for Representative (Name) - please support the two vote repeal.

If you send an email, you can add a succinct message  - the 2 vote requirement was rushed through; it is poor public policy; it ; the language is misleading; or whatever message you have conveyed to representatives in prior discussions with them.

Please take the time to make these contacts today and please encourage others to do so.

This link will provide you with email addresses of House members.

There are many indications in the State House that messages from school board members about Act 82 and its think twice requirements are making an impression on legislators.  We need to keep the pressure on in the next few weeks.  Today is an important day. Let’s light up the State House switchboard!
