    CURRICULUM & INSTRUCTION: Evaluation of Curriculum & Instructional Practice
    Overview: A clearly defined process of evaluation of both curriculum and instructional practice is essential for continual improvement of system outcomes. This is the process by which a school system determines whether or not the curriculum and instruction meets district goals.

    Tasks to Consider
    • Establish goals of the SU in regards to our curriculum.
    • Request periodic updates from superintendent regarding the curriculum and instructional evaluation practice.
    • Review the policy on curriculum.
    • Determine with the administration the role of the community in curriculum evaluation.
    • Review supervisory union goals that pertain to curriculum and instructional practice.
    • Review policy and procedures to determine superintendent’s role.
    • Establish clear expectations about role of the superintendent.
    • Establish clear procedures for the collation, manipulation, and reporting of data.
    • Establish clear procedures to guide evaluation of curriculum and instructional practice.
    • Determine a means by which to collect, organize, sort and analyze data with regard to instructional results for students.
    • Locate copies of all curricula that are implemented in the school and determine evaluation cycle.
    • Communicate curricula information to staff, parents and students.
    • Conduct a curriculum audit.
    • Determine the system within the school by which curriculum and instructional practice is reviewed and evaluated.
    • Ensure curriculum revisions are based on data.
