The "Spotlight on Leadership" series is intended to spark reflection about good practice within Vermont school district leadership teams. It is designed to provide discussion and introspection about roles and responsibilities within school systems through the use of realistic school leadership scenarios. Each article tells a brief story, which is followed by open-ended questions.

These articles were written by David Ford, VELA director, and published in the Vermont School Boards Association's monthly newsletter from 2001-2003.

Only positive examples of leadership practice.
Length of one page or less.
A variety of roles and interactions typical in Vermont school settings.
Open-ended questions to prompt comparison to local applications of the topic.
