THE LINCOLN COMMUNITY
The town of Lincoln is nestled at the foot of the Green Mountains in Addison County. It is a close-knit, vibrant community of approximately 1400 residents, known for its natural beauty, hiking, and biking trails, easy access to cross-country and downhill skiing, a modern library, strong internet connectivity, and a high-performing elementary school that is central to the community’s identity.

The Lincoln Community School sits on the banks of the New Haven River. Its outdoor classrooms, robust school garden, and acres of woodlands with walking trails attest to the importance of community-based, experiential learning in its curriculum.

Less than six miles from Lincoln is the town of Bristol (pop. 3500), a charming Vermont village that is the hub of shopping for Lincoln residents. It is also the home of Mt. Abraham Union Middle and High School, where most Lincoln students attend grades 7-12.

Middlebury (pop. 9000) is about sixteen miles southwest of Lincoln and offers all the dynamism of a college town, including restaurants, local and college-supported theatrical, musical and speaking events, an annual film festival and D1 college athletics. Middlebury College hosts the prestigious Breadloaf Writers Conference each summer as well as a renowned summer language institute.

Burlington, the state’s largest city, sits on beautiful Lake Champlain about an hour north of Lincoln. Burlington has a vibrant music, theater, and culinary scene, is home to the University of Vermont and the Burlington International Airport, and the greater Burlington area continues to attract technology and manufacturing business investment.
