EXECUTIVE OPPORTUNITY
The Grand Isle Supervisory Union, serving the communities of Alburgh, Grand Isle, Isle LaMotte, South Hero, and North Hero, Vermont is seeking a highly qualified and experienced administrator to lead the supervisory union’s four PreK through Grade 6/8 schools with a total enrollment of 520 students. Some 6-8 students and all high school students exercise school choice. Most students attend schools in neighboring counties. The successful candidate will have proven administrative and leadership skills, be a student-centered leader, and have a collaborative leadership style.
 

THE GRAND ISLE COMMUNITIES
Grand Isle County is part of the greater Burlington metropolitan area. The Islands, as they are known, have a combined population of 7,293. Together they comprise a stunning 80 square miles of picturesque farmland fields overlooking tranquil, peaceful, and pastoral vistas. Each of Grand Isle’s five towns offers activities to keep families active all year long. With more
shorelines and islands than any other county in Vermont, it is a prime area for outdoor recreation.
 

QUALIFICATIONS
The board seeks a student-centered, collaborative leader who has demonstrated experience in engaging a school community to achieve its highest potential.

GISU Superintendent Job Description
CREDENTIALS
Evidence of Vermont licensure as superintendent of schools or being appropriately licensed on or before the first day of employment
 

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
● Advanced degree in administrative studies
● Administrative experience
● Classroom teaching experience preferred
 

POSITION TYPE: Full-time
 

SALARY: Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications
 

TIMELINE
